Thomas R. Byrne

Tommy is jointly responsible for managing the Company's daily operation.  He is also responsible for the Company's strategic investment advisory services.  Mr. Byrne has been involved with the bond markets and the private equity markets for over 35 years.

 

Before taking over Blue Ocean he orchestrated a Management-Buy-Out of BlueStone Capital Partners (UK) Ltd., of which he was a partner, in January 2001 and renamed the company Anchorage Capital Partners Ltd.  At the time BlueStone was 25% owned by ABN AMRO.  He had joined BlueStone Capital Partners in New York in early 1997 as Senior Vice President in the Institutional Sales and Trading department, eventually running the bank’s fixed income department.  He also expanded his years of private equity experience in the Music Industry, Aviation, Media, MedTech, Gaming, Nano-Technology, and Strategic Biological Warfare Rapid Detection systems.

 

He began his career in 1981 at Irving Trust Co. in the International Private Banking Division and was responsible for developing the division’s gold and precious metals customer trading department.  Between 1984 and 1997 he worked primarily in the US Treasury markets and foreign sovereign bond markets.

Robbin Thompson - principal  -  (After a 15 year battle with cancer, we lost Robbin in October 2015. Robbin brought a dynamic to our team which cannot be replaced and will be sorely missed.  We continue to work on and finish the development of Robbin's last novel idea, which was an invention within the accessories line of the guitar manufacturing industry. 

 

Robbin was in charge of deal origination for the music industry and associated technologies in the U.S.  His responsibilities included sourcing deal flow and advising on the practical applications of the related technologies. He was also chairman of the Advisory Board for The Guitar Fund.

 

He was the Vice President and co-founder of In Your Ear Music And Recording Corp, a Richmond, Virginia based company that composes and produces music for commercials and films.  Founded in 1991, In Your Ear supports all types of audio and visual production services.  Their impressive roster of clients include, Exxon/Mobile, Walmart, Miller Beer, Holiday Inn and many more. 

 

Robbin's musical career expands over 40 years and is still going  strong.  He was the lead singer in the Bruce Springsteen band Steel Mill, has won The American Song Festival twice and recorded over 12 albums.  He co-authored the song Sweet Virginia Breeze, which is the official state song of Virginia.  He has penned and recorded a number of hit songs both as a solo artist and with his '70s/'80s group The Robbin Thompson Band.  He has also written and recorded songs with The Eagles bassist Timothy B. Schmit and has shared the stage with many recording artists including Bob Dylan, Bonnie Raitt, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, Bruce Hornsby and many others. 

 

Robbin held a BS in Advertising Communications from Virginia Commonwealth University, from Richmond, Virginia.

Ms. Kelly acted as the Head of Blue Ocean's European business development between 2014 and 2020.  Once COVID helped to redesign the Company's international efforts, Ms. Kelly became the Company Secretary with addded responsibilities, including research and analysis of consumer ABS markets.
